Wesnet delighted and grateful for support from Olivia Rodrigo
Global superstar Olivia Rodrigo is continuing her mission to support women and girls through her ‘GUTS World Tour’ and, in Australia, has chosen to donate a portion of her ticket sales to Wesnet.
Wesnet CEO Karen Bentley expressed her deep gratitude to Ms Rodrigo.
“We could not be more delighted that Olivia Rodrigo has chosen Wesnet as the Australian recipient of her incredibly generous donation. These funds will go to providing direct assistance to women and children escaping violence, as well as supporting the services that do the work to save and rebuild the lives of victim-survivors of domestic and family abuse.
“Wesnet represents around 350 specialist domestic and family violence services around Australia. These services are chronically stretched by a constant and growing demand for services. Olivia’s support of Wesnet will help us alleviate some of that pressure by funding resources and programs that provide direct support to women, as well as building capacity within services themselves.
“While the cash support is incredibly valuable and much-needed, we are equally grateful for the recognition of domestic and family violence services as worthy recipients. These services are often overlooked when they are absolutely central to ensuring the safety of women and children.
“Olivia’s #Fund4Good will promote women’s rights and provide tangible benefits to women and girls in Australia and around the world. We are very grateful to her.”
Wesnet is the national peak body for specialist women’s domestic and family violence services. Wesnet provides relief and support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence, intimate partner violence and other forms of gender-based violence.
