WESNET is seeking a talented person with extensive events expertise to drive our success in hosting the Fifth World Conference of Women’s Shelters for the first time in the global south. Conferences are attended by around 1000 people from over 100 countries and, running over four days, are complex and significant events. We need someone who is especially skilled at project management from the preliminary through to more advanced planning stages, including risk analysis and sponsorship management. We also need exceptional engagement and stakeholder skills, to build support for the conference across the community. This is a major opportunity for the right person to showcase their skills for an ethical and internationally significant cause.

Where is the position based?
This is a work from home position and around half the team at WESNET work from home across different parts of Australia, while half the remaining team are based in Bendigo, Victoria in our offices there.
When is the conference?
The conference is currently earmarked for the second half of 2025, probably in Sydney.
I'm not an Australian resident, will you help with visa and migration?
No. As this position is funded through a Government Grant, and we require the staff member to be located in Bendigo, we are only opening this position to individuals who are Australian residents and have the right to work in Australia already and into the future.
Can I arrange a quick chat with the CEO to discuss the position and my qualifications?
No. For procedural fairness and also due to the high volume of enquiries and automatically generated requests for "quick chats" - we ask all candidates to carefully read the instructions, and send all questions through to the email address as instructed in the selection documentation.
