Review of Domestic Violence Laws in Australia

The Attorney General Robert McLelland MP and Minister for the Status of Women Tanya Plibersek MP have today released the review into Domestic Violence Laws in Australia prepared by the Australian Government Solicitor (AGS) for the National Council to Reduce Violence Against Women and their Children.

The report provides an overview of Commonwealth, State, Territory and New Zealand legislation and was launched at the inaugeral meeting of the newly formed Ministerial Council on Family Violence.  The review will inform the development of the Rudd Government's National Plan to Reduce Violence Against Women.
