WESNET Brings Technology Safety Training to Australia

WESNET is pleased to announce exciting new training on Technology Safety. The two-day training will be conducted by experts from the USA. Organised by WESNET and sponsored by WESNET and the Victorian government and coming to Bendigo, Melbourne, Warrnambool and Hobart in March 2011. WESNET is hoping to bring it to other States and Territories in the future.

About WESNET

WESNET is the national peak body for Australian Domestic and Family Violence Services. Our members include women’s refuges, shelters, safe houses and information/ referral services.

We work at a national level on behalf of women and children who are experiencing or have experienced domestic or family violence. We support the women's specialist services sector that supports the many women and children fleeing violence.

WESNET was established in 1992 by the then Australian Government. WESNET was defunded in 1996, but has carried on as a peak body and a feminist women's organisation with the support of our membership.

From time to time WESNET has won grants and tender processes to carry out valuable projects for this sector, including winning the tender for the lead agency of the Australian Women Against Violence Alliance since mid 2010.
