WESNET recently finalised its submission to the Australian Law Reform Commission’s “Family Violence: Improving Legal Frameworks Review”. The submission touches on areas of concern that have been highlighted by women’s domestic and famiily violence services, and other women’s organisations across Australia.
WESNET commends the scope of the Commission’s review and hopes that it achieves concrete and systemic legal change to increase the safety of women and children who have experienced domestic and family violence. We also hope that our legal frameworks increase their capacity to hold men who use violence towards their family members accountable.
